Performance Measurement & Business Analysis (PMBA) is responsible for aligning enterprise-wide metrics, analysis, reporting and performance measurement tools to drive AARP's strategic and operating performance. PMBA includes a Business Optimization team that provides consulting and advisory services to projects and initiatives where there is an enterprise-wide impact, unknown root cause and/or complex stakeholder interactions.

The Analyst, Membership Forecasting & Reporting supports activities leading to the approval of short- and long-term membership projections as well as budget allocation. The role provides recommendations to the Manager, Performance Measurement on improvements to the forecasting model and implements recommendations upon approval. This position is responsible for producing and distributing scheduled reports on membership and order volumes in addition to analyzing data for actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Supports maintenance and continuous improvement of an integrated membership forecasting model/tool that incorporates all aspects of acquisition and retention activities including direct response marketing and macroeconomic factors that impact membership demand.
  • Supports data gathering and aggregation from cross-functional teams to produce multi-year membership projections tied to strategic initiates planned and in progress.
  • Publishes scheduled reports on membership growth activity and contributes insights to weekly and monthly status write-up; works with stakeholders develop new reports, improve or streamline existing reports.
  • Conducts ad hoc analyses on membership acquisition and retention trends to support membership growth strategy.
  • Provides input on the vision for enterprise data, data management, and analytics solutions across business functions.
  • Manages day-to-day activities tied to data collection, storage, management/preparation, quality, governance, and protection of data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and experience in forecasting, business planning, or data analytics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel a must along with experience with business intelligence software such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, or similar tools.
  • Experience working with trend and scenario-based models required.
  • Ability to understand data sets/database structure and SQL experience required.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment preferred.
  • Good understanding of marketing, finance, and business strategy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
