Prepares and reviews financial transactions and information to ensure that the accounting ledgers, financial statements, and other financial reporting of the owners are complete, accurate, and in compliance with applicable regulations, accounting and reporting standards, and internal policies. The unique responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the essential functions listed below: Job Duties:Participate in the monthly close, ensuring books are closed timely, accurately and completely through the following activities:Provide instruction and guidance to offshore outsource team during close process and monitor progressReview and approve journal entriesPrepare/review account reconciliationsPrepare/review bank reconciliationsEnsure reporting to Owners is provided timely, accurately, and completelyPrepare financial statements packages and cash distribution waterfallsPrepare supporting schedules for footnotes and cash flow statementsWork with other departments/communities to resolve questions on financial statementsDemonstrate a working knowledge of contracts and agreements by preparing abstracts summarizing key financial impactsParticipate in annual audits including, but not limited to, preparing schedules for auditors and preparing adjusting journal entries.Participate in special projects/ad hoc requests.Participate in annual budget process. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. BS in Accounting or related field2+ years of accounting experience - preferable general ledger accounting experience (including journal entries, bank reconciliations, other account analysis) with increasing responsibility in career progressionStrong communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with Owners, Sunrise Departments, and AuditorsDetail oriented, strong organizational and written skills and strong problem-solving/analytical skillsTeam oriented attitudeSupervisory or training experience is a plusFast learner, ability to comfortably work in a deadline-oriented environmentIntermediate experience with Microsoft Excel (such as pivot tables and V look-ups)Public accounting and/or accounting in a real estate development, property management, or venture accounting environment is a plusPeopleSoft financials experienceCPA or working towards CPASunrise maintains a safe and drug-free work environment and all offers of employment with Sunrise are conditioned on submitting to and successfully completing and passing a background check and drug test.
