Business Analysis Manager - Enterprise Risk Management

The Risk Intelligence & Reporting team brings data, analytics, and insights to shape critical risk decisions and strategy at Capital One. We work closely with risk managers and senior executives in shaping policy, delivering real-time insights, and improving decision-making. The team partners with people across Capital One with diverse skills and backgrounds including: data analysts, product managers, data scientists, risk managers, and business analysts.

As a Business Analysis Manager at Capital One, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to major company challenges. You'll team with world-class professionals to develop and test strategies that ultimately impact the bottom line. And you will do it all in a collaborative environment that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibility, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Analysis and reporting: Lead analysis products and projects for Enterprise Risk Management, including deliverables for the Chief Risk Officer, Senior Management Committees, and the Board of Directors
  • Strategic leadership: Develop strategies to improve risk identification, assessment, and management for Capital One in the face of shifting risk environments
  • Product: Develop and implement new products and processes for various risk management processes; lead product-level modeling and analytics
  • Design: Drive and build key programs and analytics solutions for our partners, including reporting strategy and automated insights
  • Consultation: Partner with other teams to identify high impact opportunities to conduct analyses, share insights that inform solutions, and seek better risk outcomes using data
  • Execution: Manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements and execute against the organization's strategy. Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently.


Successful Team Members Demonstrate Competencies In These Areas:
  • Strategic & analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analysis & risk management decisions
  • Strong executive communication skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, including visualization skills (i.e., able to "tell the story" and highlight key insights in a clear and concise manner that is easily understood by stakeholders)
  • Results focus: Display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals, and able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment
  • Partnership: Collaborate effectively with other team members and stakeholders
  • Delivery: Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. Previous consulting experience is a plus.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 2 years of experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • At least 2 years of experience in project management
  • At least 3 years of experience in Financial Services or Risk Management


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
  • 5+ years of experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • 2+ years of experience in product development
  • 2+ years of Agile or Design Thinking experience
