We measure our efforts by the success our customers enjoy and the advocacy they exhibit. We are succeeding because they are succeeding.

Guided by our shared values, we thrive in an environment where collaboration and openness are valued. We believe that innovation is powered by perspective and that teamwork and respect for each other lead to superior results. We elevate each other and obsess about doing the right thing. Our associates serve with humility and a deep respect for their responsibility in helping our customers achieve their goals and realize their dreams. Together, we are on a quest to change banking for good.

About the Role:

Capital One is looking for an energetic, creative and results-driven internal communications professional to join a growing group of experts on our Corporate Communications team.

Working for one of the world's most recognized brands that is ranked #97 on the Fortune 500 provides multiple opportunities to learn and grow while creating industry leading communications campaigns. Our work demands diverse skill-sets including experience in content production; process management; web publishing; analytics and insights; digital storytelling and more.

Senior Communications Associate, Production & Digital Content Manager - Machine Learning will support internal communications for Capital One's Machine Learning Product, Tech, and Design organization in addition to supporting related communications efforts across the Tech & Innovation communications team. As the first bank to go all in on the public cloud, Capital One has re-architected our applications and data platforms, embraced machine learning at scale, and built capabilities to manage a complex data and application environment in the cloud.

Through this journey, we're focused on building an integrated communications program that drives awareness and encourages education about our AI/ML products internally; communicates the team's vision and value to Capital One associates with compelling stories and engagements; and develops a consistent drumbeat of news and touchpoints to highlight successes and milestones from the team.

This person will partner with Machine Learning Product, Tech, and Design organization associates and tech communications leaders to support a strategic, integrated, multi-dimensional communications strategy across internal channels by managing the production flow for internal communications, graphic design, and multimedia in addition to publishing web, email and other electronic content across internal channels.

This position requires exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills; solid understanding of and experience working with digital media and content production; experience with content and production management; experience leading projects and teams to meet objectives; and the ability to build trusted relationships - with both internal and external stakeholders - while operating in a fast-paced, complex environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage our overall Enterprise AI/ML Product team internal communications editorial calendar.
  • Consult with teammates to ensure we're balancing planned content and follow-up on outstanding communications messages.
  • Own the day-to-day care and feeding of multiple internal digital channels and manage the distribution or publishing of messaging across these channels.
  • Push back and ask questions to ensure the content you're loading in our channels is top notch, error free, and hits the bulls eye for our audience.
  • Help assemble and distribute the organization's monthly digital newsletter.
  • Manage ongoing updates to multiple distribution lists.
  • Help manage shared mailbox that the team owns.
  • Work with communications colleagues and chiefs of staff on the team to understand their production needs, ensure a smooth experience, and produce great end-products for the team.
  • Manage logistics and project plans for organization-wide events.
  • Work effectively across the aisle to develop healthy partnerships within the business and other creative and communication groups.
  • Ensure consistency of material which also meets brand guidelines and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain a general understanding of Corporate Communications and our internal clients, and the way we think about communication strategies to drive high-value products.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the Tech organization and internal and external communications partners to share best practices.

Here's what we're looking for in an ideal teammate
  • A collaborative spirit combined with a passion for creating the best possible experience for your teammates and clients.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A passion for making content effective, compelling, and resonant across digital channels.
  • Agility in a constantly changing environment, including the ability to diagnose problems and help drive appropriate solutions.
  • A tenacious problem solver, working with internal customers and teammates to understand intent and goals to manage projects that deliver on their needs.
  • Comfortable using various technologies, platforms and channels to deliver superior content experiences.
  • Highly collaborative and inquisitive about how our services, processes, and teams work.
  • Highly organized with comfort juggling multiple projects and priorities.
  • Interest and baseline knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in strategy, communications, marketing or event management, or any combination of the four.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Project or Process Management or any combination of the two.

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience managing the development and production of and/or crafting communications or marketing pieces.
  • At least 2 years experience with a production/project management system (e.g., Google Workspace, Trello, Asana, etc.).
  • At least 5 years corporate, agency or web design firm experience.
  • At least 2 years experience interpreting metrics and trends.
