Risk Associate- CoS
Job Description:
The Risk Management (RM) Chief of Staff (CoS) group provides governance and oversight to a number of activities in the RM organization such as senior management committee coordination, Board reporting, and the Chief Risk Officer's approval and attestation requests and manages horizontal services for the Risk Office and CoS organization such as risk reporting for our Advisory and Process teams, information retention management and associate engagement efforts. In addition, the Chief of Staff group leads organizational effectiveness efforts such as a monthly chief of staff forums and division-wide change management practices.
Risk Management is seeking an energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented Associate to join the CoS and Reporting team. This Associate position will play a critical role in our organizational management practices and governance, associate events and programs, as well as provide horizontal support to key programs associated with Training, Engagement, and Diversity Inclusion and Belonging (DIB).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Risk Office Chief of Staff (ROCoS) onboarding process, which includes preparing a new associate welcome package, updating team sites, coordinating a welcome message, and serving as part of the onboarding team.
- Maintain and enhance the ROCoS Landing Page with accurate, updated, and relevant content.
- Maintain the latest and accurate ROCoS Organizational Chart, Meet the Team, and similar team overview materials.
- Manage and enhance the RM Computer Based Training (CBT) quarterly compliance process.
- Support the Corporate Policy Monitoring process in adherence with the Enterprise Policy Program Standard.
- Support key CoS functions and activities to ensure operational rigor.
An Ideal Candidate:
- Background in process management and process optimization.
- Direct experience with Capital One's GSuite, including Google Forms, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Docs, and Google Jamboards.
- Enjoys helping others, answering questions, troubleshooting, and solving problems.
- Critical thinker who consistently evaluates risks, connection points, and the importance of being well-managed.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and values clear risk management-based documentation.
- Team player and enjoys driving processes independently.
- Clear communication and can craft language that is precise with a clear call to action.
- Posses a relentless focus on quality and timelines.
- Adapt to change, embrace bold ideas, and are intellectually curious.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
- At least 2 years of Project Management or Process Management experience
- At least 2 years of Risk Management experience
- At least 2 years of experience writing and sending communication to senior leaders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree
- At least 2 years of experience building and influencing strategy
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Strong problem solving and customer focus skills
- Agile or design thinking experience
