Maintains a system of program-specific data to track suspension items such as project milestones and provide support for various consult & encounter reports using the VSSC database(s), VistA, consult toolbox, and compliance strategies.

Reviews documents, reports, and/or applications for omissions and inconsistencies, and ensures data entry is complete and accurate.

Provides organizational and data management support for the medical staff Critical Care Committee, medical care staff performance improvement data the medical staff provider meeting.

Independently coordinates and communicates mandatory education requirements, populates data and tracks/reports service compliance upon demand.

Independently assists management staff with timely program compliance for unannounced inspections by gathering and disseminating the required documents to inspectors.

Provides administrative and technical support for 17 medical sub-specialty program sections within Medical Care Service.

Prepares reports and correspondence according to Medical Center, VISN, and VACO requirements.

Maintains schedules for the Chief, Associate Chief, and Administrative Officer(s), Medical Service.

Coordinates and prepares with timely reporting for the mandated service/facility committees.

Independently note and follow up on commitments made at meetings and conferences by staff members, providing additional scheduling and/or reminders for Supervisory staff in each program as required.

Provide coverage for committee meetings and provide minutes for distribution.

Functions as a primary service timekeeper for the Medical Service, covering an assigned portion of both original and corrected timecard entry requirements for Medicine.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 06/27/2022.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

In order to qualify for this position, applicants must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, experience must have been equivalent the next lower grade level (GS-5) in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: performing clerical/administrative duties in an office environment; answering and directing phone calls; receiving visitors; preparing correspondence; maintaining files/records; and using a computer to perform a variety of support tasks; scheduling and managing a calendar of appointments. At this grade level, applicants should have good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to perform assignments independently with minimal oversight. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be moderate walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, stooping, and carrying of light items like papers or books. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. The incumbent may be required to walk across the campus, in inclement weather, to retrieve documents, items, or vehicles as necessary for the performance of the work conducted in the Office of the Chief, Medical Service.
