Job Description

Washington Post Live is looking for a production coordinator to join our editorial team. We are looking for a self-starter with excellent organizational and communication skills. Someone who has a positive attitude, is highly organized, detail-oriented and can perform well under the pressure of a fast-moving news environment.

The ideal candidate is a team player who can follow detailed instruction but is also able to take initiative when needed and has a passion for journalism and is an avid consumer of news content.

Responsibilities :
  • Track daily booking outreach and publishing daily updates
  • Manage deadlines with the event side of the team
  • Write/create lower thirds
  • Create run of show grids from producer notes
  • Coordinate connection tests with upcoming guests
  • Assist with copy editing across all assets
  • Coordinate collection of Twitter audience questions during each program
  • Organize and update various excel tracking documents with precision

  • 2+ years in newsroom or similar environment
  • Bachelor's degree required (TV/Film/Journalism or related field)
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to perform duties under deadlines
  • Strong presentation, writing and research skills
  • Experience with digital media
  • Ability to manage social media accounts desirable
  • A collaborative spirit and ability to build partnerships across team
  • Experience using Excel, Adobe Premier, photoshop
