Capital One is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Manager of Policy Adherence, Requirements Management, and Operations to join the Corporate Policy Office within Enterprise Risk Management. The team is a dedicated group of professionals focused on executing second line-of-defense oversight responsibilities by improving governance and quality of policy documents for Capital One, while providing first-class policy management services.

This Manager will contribute to the establishment and execution of sustainable policy management practices consistent with the Enterprise Policy Program. They will be responsible for the strategies and processes that facilitate effective policy document administration through the use of our policy management system. They will be responsible for our Policy Adherence processes, including integration of these processes with other risk management methodologies. They will partner with stakeholders at all levels to develop, implement, and drive flawlessly executed processes that improve business efficiency and drive results. They will lead a team of dedicated professionals. They will need to build and maintain effective relationships with business partners.

Success in this position will rely heavily on working well with associates across the Enterprise, identifying and executing strategies to build and improve the necessary processes, analyzing data from a variety of sources, and independently identifying risk through undefined processes or ways that are not predetermined. This role requires core strengths in Results Focus, Problem Solving, Analytical Thinking, and Communication. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with executives, a demonstrated ability to manage processes, and an ability to assess whether processes are well-designed and effective. A commitment to collaboration and teamwork is required, while having a strong ability to influence as well as being detail-oriented and results-focused.

General Responsibilities:
  • Leading and evolving Policy Adherence processes, including integrating Policy Adherence with other risk management methodologies
  • Developing and maintaining processes to support efficient management of policy requirements
  • Maintaining and updating the policy management system to meet CPO and business needs
  • Supporting future integration with other risk management systems and methodologies
  • Responding to data requests for policy document analysis
  • Creating and validating processes
  • Designing and producing metrics used to measure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Driving process improvements aligned with desired customer outcomes
  • Analyzing, identifying, and correcting data issues with systems used or owned by a department
  • Providing subject matter expertise on processes when representing the department in projects and other meetings
  • Managing and leading a high-performing team of associates

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in Process or Project management
  • At least 1 year of experience in People management
  • At least 1 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal business clients
  • At least 1 year of experience control testing

Preferred Qualifications :
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Juris Doctorate (JD)
  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
  • At least 2 years of risk management experience
  • At least 2 years project management experience
  • At least 2 years of change management experience
