Project Manager, Sr. Associate

As a Senior Project Manager at Capital One, you can achieve results you never thought possible by playing a key role in delivering well managed, re-imagined and streamlined controls that impact the company's bottom line and our customer's lives for over 30MM prospective customers each year. In this exciting role, you will work closely with key stakeholders to deliver results that will have direct impact on the bottom line of the company. General Responsibilities:

  • Subject matter expertise for Controls Design, building new controls, documentation maintenance and monitoring
  • Work closely with multiple lines of business, risk and compliance, product and tech teams to ensure adequate control design, modernized implementation and optimal performance.
  • Complete assessments of new technology products, partners or features to determine control requirements
  • Map regulatory requirements to existing controls and/or identify when new controls are required
  • Understanding customers' needs of the controls and driving process improvements
  • Drive cross-functional projects based on defined priorities; ensure scope of deliverables, timelines are met; identify risks and issues and mitigate and / or escalate as needed; manage complex up and downstream project impacts.
  • Forge relationships with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments
  • The ability to be Technology fluent (or conversational) with a comfort level working in a technology world.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic agile environment are essential to succeeding in this role.
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes
  • Demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands
  • Display strong consulting and collaboration skills


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  • At least 3 years of Project Management experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters / MBA degree
  • At least 5 years of Project Management experience
  • At least 1 year of People Management experience
  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong problem solving and influencing skills
  • Work experience achieving results with complex projects
