Overview: Our client, a Medical Center facility under the aegis of a California Public Ivy university and one of largest health delivery systems in California, seeks an accomplished Epic Clarity / BI Developer. Candidate must be authorized to work in USA without requiring sponsorship Location: Los Angeles, CA 90095 (100% Remote Acceptable) Duration: 6 months w/ possibility of extension Description:. Responsible for leading the development of analytics solutions by gathering business needs, documenting requirements, identifying appropriate data sources, developing reports, visualizations, and various analytics solutions, and delivering them to stakeholders.. The incumbent will provide analytical support for health management, including profiling, health economics, and business analytics / performance metrics.. The incumbent will also support data scientists in the implementation and deployment of predictive analytic models related to health services.. The incumbent must achieve in-depth knowledge of relevant software applications as well as understand policies, procedures, and constraints.. The incumbent takes direction from, and collaborates with, the Manager, Analytic Solutions, and the Director, Enterprise Analytics, on work priorities and manages the resolution of escalated issues.. Meet with stakeholders to understand business needs for analytics requests. Gather requirements, document, clarify, interpret specifications and review for completeness and accuracy.. Design, develop, validate, and perform thorough functional testing of reports, data extracts, visualizations and dashboards utilizing BI tools and data sources such as, including but not limited to: Caboodle, Clarity, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards, Registry Framework and Data Marts, SlicerDicer, and other Business Intelligence Tools.. Monitor performance of analytic solutions and take corrective action to optimize or improve their performance when necessary. Participate in application validation and QA efforts.. Manage the inventory of SAP Business Objects-based reports used for published reporting. Assure that the metadata used for the Report Catalog is meaningful, standardized, complete, accurate, and up to date.. Manage the data model for reporting for assigned Epic applications and/or business lines.. Manage the inventory of Clarity, Caboodle and Foundational Data Mart objects used for both published and ad hoc reporting. Assure that all object metadata is meaningful, standardized, complete, accurate, and up to date.. Identify the requirements gap between Foundational Data Mart objects and requirements for assigned tickets and projects. Identify Foundational Data Mart gaps as "extension" vs. "missing concept." Identify objects in Clarity or from non-Epic data required to fill the gaps. Using best practices from Data Modeling, design and develop (write data-definition SQL) objects in a manner that is in concert with the Epic Caboodle framework.. Manage measures and metrics for assigned Epic applications and/or business lines. Assure that metadata used for Measures and Metrics catalog is meaningful, standardized, complete, accurate, and up to date. Note the content maintained in Epic Metrics Catalog and use that as an anchor for metrics.. Review upgrade documentation related to reporting tools and content, determine the best implementation approach. Evaluate, anticipate, and communicate risks to existing reports and processes, and recommend ways to mitigate those risks. . Map source and target data, as well as perform logical model to physical model mapping. Review, translate and transform business requirements into the design of semantic data models.. Participate in meetings with technical peers regarding solution design. Develop semantic data models through the use of tools such as, but not limited to, Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services, Azure Analysis Services and SAP Universe Designer.. Understand and implement best practices for tuning and optimization. Create technical documentation pertaining to the design and development of semantic data models.. Maintain technical proficiency in BI and data warehousing technologies including, but not limited to, Microsoft Stack (SSIS/SSAS/SSRS) and SAP Solutions (Crystal/Webi/Universe Design). Qualifications:. Epic Clarity Data Model certification in one or more modules.. 2+ years of experience with statistical programming languages (Python or R).. 5+ years of experience in a healthcare related organization.. 5+ years demonstrated expertise in MS SQL Server or Oracle. Preferred:. Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or another computational/quantitative field preferred.. Proficiency in the use of analytical documentation such as Jupyter or iPython notebook is strongly preferred.. Epic build experience in a live environment strongly preferred.. Epic implementation experience specific to clinical workflows and order management strongly preferred.. Experience in visualization development with the use of Tableau strongly preferred.
