Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire a Nurse Practitioner/Physician assistant who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.
The Cardiac and Vascular Services Advanced Practice Provider is a leading expert in cardiovascular care across all settings, and acts a resource for, support to, and leader of cardiovascular resources within the hospital. This position will provide high quality, evidence-based care to in-patient cardiac and thoracic surgery patients and will assist cardiologists and surgeons in patient management from pre-hospitalization to discharge.
As a Advanced Practice Provider you will:
•Educate and guide patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle habits in the hospital
•Coordinate Patient Care with interdisciplinary team (Physicians, Cardiologists, Case Management)
•Obtain patient history, performs assessment, examination, and obtain labs
•Perform medicine reconciliation
•Educate the patient on chronic disease in Clinic
•Develop plan of care for patient
•Follow up on calls made to patient daily (Vitals, medicine, symptoms)
Qualifications Include:
• Master of Science Degree with completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or an accredited Physician Assistant program required.
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Must have hospital-based cardiology or cardiac surgery experience
• Current Maryland License
• Active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office applications, Internet and email
Work Schedule:
3 x 12 hr shifts
Shift work only, no on call.
Will include weekends and occasional holidays.
