Sr. Manager, Project Management

Capital One is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of a groundbreaking line of new products. You will work directly with product and tech teams to identify scope and coordinate delivery as well as own communications to stakeholders around program status and requirements. Your job will include creating frameworks to guide and coordinate product delivery, as well as the oversight and maintenance of dashboards and other tools that delivery teams and stakeholders will use to communicate and understand where the project is at any point in time.

As a Project Manager, you will develop in-depth knowledge and create the central mechanisms of visibility and accountability required to deliver products to market. There are a wide variety of stakeholders who need visibility, and you will own the communication and reporting out to those stakeholders, adapting to their required level of knowledge and involvement in the program. You will use a variety of traditional and new tools, including project planning tools, wikis and blogs, email, spreadsheets, and meetings.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the product/products you are delivering
  • Lead intent alignment conversations with tech and product teams
  • Coordinate internal resources, stakeholders and dependencies for the flawless delivery of a sophisticated set of products to market
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and dashboards
  • Ensure that all products are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Coordinate project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed

  • You understand product development and the value of strategic alignment for a product suite
  • You understand agile frameworks and tech delivery
  • Proven work experience in the information technology sector
  • Ability to work independently to drive process improvements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • You can positively represent our brand.
  • You feel at ease in complex environments.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 7 years of Project Management experience
  • At least 3 year of experience working with development teams


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong attention to detail, combined with the ability to see and explain the big picture
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, change, and shifting priorities
  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification is a plus
  • SAFe certified or experience with scaled Agile frameworks
  • CSM or similar certification is a plus
  • Excellent presentation skills, comfortable presenting to senior leadership
