Principal Associate, Events & Experiences

Internal Events Associate

Are you passionate about creating outstanding event experiences that celebrate culture, inspire change, and drive results? As an Events & Experiences Principal Associate in the Capital One Commercial Bank Communications Team, you will bring to life exceptional in-person and virtual experiences to effectively engage our 4,000+ associates.

You will partner with our internal communications team and business leaders to develop insights-led strategies and event programming, oversee all production plans, and ensure flawless execution for high priority, Commercial-wide events. You will also work closely with our enterprise partners, providing strategic counsel and maintaining high levels of quality for smaller events across the organization.

By joining our team as an Events & Experiences Principal Associate, you will be expected to push the envelope, drive engagement in new ways, and strive to build the extraordinary.

Day-to-day Responsibilities
  • Develop event strategies and plans that deliver on business, communications, and associate engagement objectives
  • Create event experiences that effectively:
    • Tell an articulate and consistent story, with a strong voice that leverages the right channels
    • Inspire confidence in our leadership and business strategy
    • Support the organization's efforts to achieve targeted results
  • Use data, insights, and market research to continuously inform and improve event planning and execution across the Commercial Bank
  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution for all Commercial-wide events, including (but not limited to): All-associate town halls, leadership forums, associate celebrations, and community events)
  • Partner with internal and external vendors (AV, F&B, travel, logistics) to deliver high-quality events
  • Liaise with Capital One Corporate Events team to share and leverage best practices and capabilities
  • Control event budgets to deliver value
  • Travel may be required to manage and support on-site events in key Capital One Commercial offices ( estimated: up to 25% )


About You
  • Ready to openly and actively contribute as a member of the Commercial Bank Internal Communications team
  • Deeply focused, with exceptional judgment and painstaking attention to detail
  • Able to deliver - and proactively manage - defined timelines
  • Highly motivated, flexible, and results-oriented
  • Eager to roll up your sleeves and problem solve to ensure the job gets done
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Experience in managing communications to a wide variety of audiences - including business writing, storytelling, and editing
  • Experience working with stakeholders across the organization


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Military experience
  • At least 2 years in communications, marketing, or event production


Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 2 years directly managing event plan development and execution
  • At least 4-6 years in communications, marketing, or event production
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Creative problem solver, resourceful, team player
  • Adaptability to situations and ever-changing demands
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Experience working cross-functionally with all levels of stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
