Senior Manager, Business Development Marketing - FS Partnerships

This is an exciting time for Capital One Auto Partnerships, as we are looking to expand our platform ecosystem aggressively through the addition of new participants. This role is on the Partnerships Marketing team working with cross-functional teams to develop marketing and pitch materials to help win new business by telling the Capital One Navigator story, outlining recommendations for value proposition development, and detailing our approach to onboarding new participating companies.

Responsibilities:
  • Represent the marketing team on collaborative cross-functional business development teams along with BD, analysts, creative, design, operations, legal, and tech representatives, among others.
  • Develop storytelling approach and product recommendation, value proposition, and platform marketing strategy.
  • Work with senior leadership to craft messaging strategy, plan events, and oversee market research efforts including competitive and industry tracking
  • Leverage customer insights, competitor insights, analytics and creative thinking to inform pitch.
  • Create and deliver pitch materials for prospective partners, including RFI/RFP responses, executive presentations, marketing overviews and other materials as requested.
  • Work across the enterprise to identify and leverage Capital One-owned assets and unique opportunities to aid in winning new business.
  • Champion partner brands, ensuring that all recommendations are in line with their respective brand personas, voice and style guides.
  • Provide input during the contracting process and develop review materials to gain executive approval of programs agreements for newly-won business.
  • Effectively transition newly-won business from the business development team to client management team.
  • Manage a repository of marketing and pitch materials to strengthen the quality and improve the speed at which we respond to RFIs/RFPs.
  • Assist the team leader with annual planning, workload management and coaching existing and onboarding new team members.
  • Manage a small team of marketing, event and creative associates.

  • Demonstrates strong customer empathy-backed decision making and the desire to understand the "why" behind the data.
  • Is a skilled relationship-builder who can create solid, high-leverage internal networks and client relationships.
  • Has experience responding to RFIs/RFPs and developing written proposals and creative presentations for executive audiences.
  • Has experience working with technology products, platforms, or software as a service (SaaS).
  • Can manage the details of multiple projects, deadlines and changing priorities, while maintaining excellent and accurate work that adheres to internal policies and regulations.
  • Demonstrates strong curiosity, ability to learn quickly, and think creatively to uncover and apply actionable consumer insights.
  • Maintains an understanding of external environmental trends, industry trends, competitor trends to spark fresh ideas and ensure team capabilities can meet the changing marketplace.
  • Can actively grow the abilities and skill of the team members through strong leadership and coaching.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or Military experience.
  • At least 7 years of experience in business development, agency, B2B, platform, or SaaS marketing.
  • At least 5 years of experience in multi-channel campaign development, including research, planning, execution and performance analysis.
  • At least 4 years of experience in creating and delivering presentations to influence senior audiences.
  • At least 4 years of leadership experience in building teams, leading and developing direct or indirect reports.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Marketing, Communications or Business.
  • At least 5 years of experience in creating and delivering presentations to influence senior audiences.
  • At least 3 years of experience in client relationship management.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in financial services or auto finance.
  • At least 2 years working on platform or SaaS products.
