Manager, Chief of Staff

Capital One's Enterprise Services Business Risk team is seeking a high potential Chief of Staff candidate to lead strategy-setting and people-focused initiatives. Our Chief of Staff organization focuses on high-leverage strategic initiatives to propel the businesses that power the Enterprise and innovation in people strategy to make ES Business Risk the best place to work. You will work with smart and passionate people to deliver results that directly and meaningfully impact our teams, design the future of work, and communicate our story. You will take on important and exciting responsibility from day one, working with key stakeholders across the team, organization, and company.

  • You are highly collaborative. You have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with senior stakeholders
  • You are detail oriented with exceptional problem solving skills - you are ready to dive in on a wide variety of projects and tasks and execute with high fidelity and little oversight
  • You find signal in noise - you can cut through messy situations to crystallize the message beneath and help create clarity for multiple stakeholder groups
  • You can tell stories using data and make compelling cases for the "why " behind the work
  • You are flexible and have a team-first attitude! Priorities and projects can shift - your team will look to you to lead them through change in a well-managed way.
  • You're a "multi-tool" player. You can flex easily between tactical execution and big picture strategy. You love learning new things, enhancing existing processes, and you are always ahead of the game on deadlines and deliverables.



What You'll Own:
  • Strategy Support: Partner closely with the leadership team of our Business Risk MVP to develop, clarify, and drive forward a cohesive organizational strategy. You will facilitate the creation of executive presentations and regulator communications that articulate our strategy and risk health to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Executive Support and Team Culture: Provide leadership and direction for the organizational culture we have built and facilitate a management system that ensures organizational clarity and effectiveness. Lead initiatives focused on strengthening and maintaining associate engagement and enablement
  • Risk Management Operations: Provide clarity on execution of key risk management reports, regulator interactions, and other routines for communicating the health of our risk management to stakeholders
  • Team Structure & Resource Management: Quarterback staffing needs and resource allocation including management of budget adherence and third party spend needs
  • Partnership with ES BCRO Chief of Staff Organization: Ensure coordination of efforts across local team Chief of Staff efforts and top of house Chief of Staff organization. Requires effective partnership and collaboration for sharing best practices, influencing strategy, and flawless execution of shared activities.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in project or program management
  • At least 2 years of experience supporting or working within technology



Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience supporting a Chief of Staff organization
  • 1+ years of people management experience
  • 1+ years of Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging experience or related training/certification
  • 1+ years of Financial Services industry experience
  • Project Management (PMP) or Program Management (PgMP) certification
