UX/Product Designer - Small Business Bank

The Small Business Bank Design team is a group of passionate human-centered designers and strategic thinkers charged with creating experiences in service of a small business owner's dream, and providing them with financial tools and guidance that feel exclusively created for every moment in their journey.

We collaborate with partners from product, tech, ops, analytics, legal, marketing, and brand teams to bring about a persistent focus on our customers and create elegant, simple products and services that can make a positive impact on the lives of small business owners.

Our small but mighty design team supports 3 primary workstreams: acquisitions, digital servicing and associate tools. While your day-to-day responsibilities will focus on the customer-facing digital banking platform, there is a potential for horizontal influence and engagement.

What you'll do:
  • Responsible for the end-to-end user experience and interface design for the customer-facing Small Business Bank digital servicing product, working closely with PMs, engineers, and stakeholders across the company
  • Develop new feature concepts, frameworks, portfolio prioritization, and roadmaps that help drive the strategic definition of the desired user experience
  • Develop deep empathy for our customers and use research to inform design solutions
  • Translate strategy into concept prototypes to communicate your vision through artifacts
  • Provide UX direction for development, testing, and refinement of digital and service prototypes
  • Use visual and tangible storytelling to share your discoveries, influence stakeholders, and create energy around your ideas
  • Become entrenched in available and defined design systems and apply these in your work where applicable


What you'll bring:
  • Empathy that will empower you to be a customer advocate in our product development processes
  • Strong leadership presence to facilitate collaboration between Design and Tech
  • Ability to translate user needs and requirements into clear and compelling artifacts
  • Ability to clearly communicate your recommendations to partners and influence the shape of the product using service blueprints, future state maps, user journeys, and more
  • Excellent problem-solving and relationship management skills


Your Design Portfolio:
  • Highlights both your UX and your UI work
  • Reflects understanding of design principles, systems thinking and industry-standard interaction patterns for responsive web and/or mobile.
  • Showcases end-to-end work on digital product design projects - show your process from discovery to delivery
  • Gives us a glimpse of what makes you and your skills unique


Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 2+ years of experience with user experience design and including visual UI design


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4+ years experience in the full range of product design, interaction design and visual design
  • A compelling portfolio that demonstrates your past work and its impact
  • Familiarity with a variety of user research methodologies and how to use them effectively
  • Excellent communication and the ability to influence multiple levels of the organization
  • Experience designing and shipping web and mobile products that customers love
  • Ability to design for any platform (iOS, Android, mobile web, desktop etc.)
  • Mastery of design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Pixate, etc)
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • Ability to work well on an ego-free, highly collaborative, and cross-functional team
