UL Technology Services is dedicated to ensuring continuous enhancement of services, compliance, and productivity to department core business practices.About the Position:The Associate Director of Technology Services serves on the leadership team for Technology Services and is also a key member of the Housing and Residence Life staff. This position will be dedicated to producing continual service enhancements, ensuring compliance with institutional and state regulations, and improving productivity through the adoption of divisional core business practices.The Associate Director will be responsible for managing University Life Technology Services staff and supporting technology needs within the division of University Life. This position will ensure that technology needs are being met and will coordinate with Central IT to ensure that service needs are met and incident requests are resolved.Responsibilities:Lead operational and technical staff, ensuring high levels of customer service and staff development;Provide project oversight for technical and operations projects within the division of University Life;Communicate and coordinate with stakeholders, teaming partners, vendors, subcontractors, and University partners on all aspects of projects;Provide oversight and direction to ensure enterprise systems, both operating systems and applications, managed by the division meet internal guidelines and follow industry best practice;Direct the creation of business cases, incorporating a thorough understanding of enterprise applications and departmental processes;Create and maintain SQL jobs and application reports using data processes and user-customized reports;Develop and manage operations, processes, and staffing for the department(s);Develop strategies for threat/vulnerability analyses to determine the probable frequency and severity of natural and man-made disasters and criminal activity on the organization's ability to deliver services;Conduct regular system audits and reviews;Design, develop, implement, and coordinate systems, policies, standards, and procedures;Develop ways to enhance integrations with other University systems and streamline processes;Increase departmental effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies; andEvaluate and report on the current status of systems, procedural security, information systems security, employee awareness, and recovery capabilities.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience;Significant (generally five (5)+ years') experience working in IT operations;Considerable (generally three (3)+ years') experience overseeing IT teams and projects;Experience with leading and developing diverse teams;Demonstrated advanced project management skills;Excellent customer service skills;Effective and advanced written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills and the ability to present to a diverse group of users;Comprehensive understanding of network architecture and client/server technology;Demonstrated problem solving and communication skills required;Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, diverse environment;Detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask, problem-solve, and manage competing priorities;Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative; andAbility to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices; andAbility to develop system requirements for both new systems and enhancements/additional modules for existing systems.
