Open Rank Term Faculty, School of NursingThe George Mason University (GMU) School of Nursing invites applications for full-time, 9-month instructional faculty positions at the academic rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. CHHS is transitioning to become the first College of Public Health in the State of Virginia. Further information about the College may be found at: https://chhs.gmu.edu.About the School of Nursing:The School currently enrolls over 700 students, with Baccalaureate and Master's programs and both a Doctoral of Nursing Practice (DNP) program that includes advanced practice nursing concentrations in family practice, psychiatric mental health, and adult gerontology, as well as administration and a PhD in Nursing program. Further information about the School may be found at: https://nursing.gmu.edu.Responsibilities:Planning, teaching and evaluating curriculum across undergraduate and graduate programs;Mentoring, advising and evaluating students;Facilitating experiential learning in the simulation lab;Engaging with clinical and community-based partners;Pursuing professional service that advances the School's mission; andParticipating in faculty governance.Required Qualifications:Terminal degree in Nursing (DNP or PhD) or health-related field;An unencumbered Virginia Registered Nurse license, or eligibility to obtain upon employment;Experience with distance learning in an online environment;Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;Commitment to supporting a culture of inclusion and diversity; andMinimum of 5 years nursing experience.Preferred Qualifications:Current, unencumbered Virginia Nurse Practitioner license and national certification, and license to Prescribe;Experience with simulation;Expertise in effectively teaching in higher education;History of precepting nursing undergraduate and/or graduate students in clinical settings;Engaged in current nursing practice;Experience with distance learning in an online environment; andAdvanced practice certification as Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and/or Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner.
