Senior Manager, Technology - Executive Reporting Products (Remote Eligible)

As a Senior Manager, Technology on Capital One's Enterprise Product and Platform Technology (EP2 T) team you will coordinate existing technical reporting while driving the definition and implementation efficiency improvements. The main focus of this role is to own the suite of technical executive reporting. Our ultimate goal would be effortless reporting that enables LOB wide visibility, supports data-driven decision making and drives open exchanges of ideas, perspectives and support across the EP2 executive team.

In conjunction with technical product management, additional program/project management services may be needed across a variety of high priority initiatives.

We're looking for a leader that's equal parts driver, visionary, and problem solver. You'll be responsible for co-creating a vision for our technical reporting future while getting broad stakeholder alignment, driving operational efficiencies and guiding delivery teams to deliver exceptional value while knocking down any impediments that slow us down.

On any given day in EP2 will be:

  • Empowered. You'll play a major role in identifying internal customers' pain points and translating that into vision, backlog and features. You'll lead a matrixed team toward delivery - working cross-functionally to determine the best approach to help get us there.
  • Learning constantly. This is an emerging area of focus where we still have a lot to learn about internal customer expectations. You'll need to ensure a mindset of continuous discovery and be open to shifting as we learn.
  • Sharing openly. Our culture is one of transparency. Collaboration across multiple teams is a key to success. You'll need to understand your teammates' and stakeholders' motivations, influence their definitions of success, and learn from their past experiences.
  • Innovating relentlessly. Push big change by starting small, testing ideas, and learning your way to results. You'll lead data analysts and reporting engineers in the creation of hypothesis-driven learning agendas and defining metrics to measure success.
  • Succeeding strategically. Solve the right problem, and have the confidence to stop working on the wrong one. Grow big by identifying atomic value, then refining the path towards success.
  • Connecting creatively. We are solving challenging problems, so you'll need to find the best ideas from across the organization. How do you have an open and honest discussion on the path forward, disagree agreeably, and then move forward together.

Our ideal teammate has experience in:
  • Working closely with leadership to build out, manage, and execute strategic technology roadmaps and deliver on these strategies.
  • Leveraging internal customer insights to influence priorities and roadmap feature development while advocating for and driving alignment between stakeholders in the development of acceptance criteria.
  • Developing and communicating a 6-12-18 month vision to senior stakeholders and partner teams with accurate details and transparency on risks and impediments
  • Leveraging delivery metrics and data to formulate and flex strategies
  • Building relationships with those outside of your immediate team resulting in horizontal influence
  • Utilizing varied product management, project management and Agile methodologies to lead technology change
  • Driving delivery from conceptualization to completion. Bringing organization to chaos, multitasking and driving toward MVP (minimal viable product).
  • Planning complex program/project delivery, set up routines for on-going alignment and stakeholder management and effectively roll-out change throughout a large and diverse organization.

General Responsibilities:
  • Digital product management, determine a strategy and put structure in place to manage strategic delivery.
  • Champion, coordinate and orchestrate existing reporting routines as well as Community of Practice to ensure we learn vicariously from each other, increase efficiencies and share best practices.
  • Partner with executive customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive product enhancements and project delivery
  • Lead, drive and support organizational change
  • Leverage problem solving skills and innovation to ensure features deliver on intent and operational practices are efficient
  • Identify ways to improve and streamline business and technology processes
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes
