In addition, the Red Cross is embarking on its own efforts to reduce our environmental footprint. In order to support our many humanitarian efforts, our organization depends heavily on the support of our generous donor population. We participate in many donor-focused fundraising activities including identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors and philanthropists, as well as corporate and foundation partners across the country. The funds we receive provide direct support to those who have been impacted by these devastating events. As a result, we are looking for proactive and mission-driven Senior Philanthropy Partner with an established track record of achieving significant philanthropic support. The American Red Cross is seeking two Senior Philanthropy Partners to help lead our new and ambitious Climate Crisis fundraising campaign. These positions can be located anywhere within the United States. Job Summary: Helps lead a multi-year transformational fundraising effort that identifies, engages, cultivates, solicits and stewards new prospects and existing donors. Cultivates high-potential relationships and develops personalized asks and proposals to these prospective supporters. The ideal candidate will possess extraordinary communication skills and be an open, achievement-oriented professional. Responsible for growing an assigned portfolio of top tier prospects and donors, including a blended portfolio of individual donors, corporations, and high value volunteers. Assists donors in creating expansive programmatic offerings and institutional philanthropy through giving to the American Red Cross Climate Crisis Campaign. This position reports to the Vice President, Climate Change and Sustainability. Job Description: Transformational Giving 1. Strategy: Develops and executes ongoing strategy for qualifying donors and moving them to prospect status using tools such as networking, research, and cultivation events. Works collaboratively with other departments and partners on the development staff at the National Office to create customized solicitation strategies matching the objectives of the organization and interests of the donor/prospect. 2. Fundraising Targets: Manages a portfolio of donors and prospects. Responsible for targeting 7-, 8-, and 9-figure gifts over multiple years. The minimum annual fundraising goal ($5,000,0000 for the current fiscal year) as specified in performance standards. 3. Prospect Development: Builds program capacity by working with National and Regional Board members and other leadership volunteers to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward appropriate donors by providing educational, technical and program support. 4. Relationship Development: Accountable for cultivating the ongoing relationships with major donors for the benefits of the American Red Cross. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree. Experience: Minimum 10 years of fundraising and/or sales experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Must have extensive knowledge of fundraising and/or sales principles and techniques in large organizations. Must have successful track record in solicitation of large fund amounts and innovative partnerships with top-level donors and key volunteer stakeholders. A current valid driver's license and good driving record is required. Management Experience: N/A Skills & Abilities: Excellent organizational, collaborative, analytical, presentation and communication (Interpersonal, oral and written) skills. Self-starter. Strong emotional intelligence. Good project management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of fundraising database systems (eg Raiser"s Edge, Ability to work on a team. Travel: 25-50% business travel may be required.
