Assistant Coach, Men's Soccer The George Mason University, Intercollegiate Athletics Department, a NCAA Division I institution and member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Coach for Men's Soccer. This is a full-time, 12-month administrative professional faculty position. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:Coaching and administrative duties as directed by the Head Coach;Recruiting;Team travel;Academic monitoring of athletes; andInstructing players in techniques of soccer.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience;Substantial demonstrated experience coaching, assisting or managing a soccer program at the collegiate level or at a Major League Soccer development academy; andMust currently possess an appropriate, active, valid motor vehicle operator's license that meets all of GMU's requirements for operating state vehicles and equipment under Mason's Vehicle Use Policy 1411 The Office of Risk Management reserves the right to review the driver's licenses and Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs) of all candidates selected with employment contingent upon a favorable review.Preferred Qualifications:United States Soccer, National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), or comparable coaching certificate highly preferred.
