Market Research Associate Job Summary:

We're looking for a Market Research Associate to join a well-established and world-renowned Association in Washington, DC. We're looking for a Market Research Associate who can proactively multi-task and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment, while meeting deadlines and collaborating with a number of internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrating experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection—most notably exercising a solid grasp of primary and secondary research design and methodology—the Market Research Associate will also be open and eager to pick up new skills and try new methodologies and channels to deliver results with maximum impact. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, detail-oriented and possesses superior organizational, problem solving and time management skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Market Research Associate Responsibilities:
  • Work across business units and stakeholders to provide market research support.
  • Draft, edit and field quantitative survey instruments that get to the core of research objectives; monitor data collection to ensure all surveys are performing at optimum quality levels and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Program surveys utilizing advanced logic/skip patterns, piping, masking, appended variables, and setting hidden variables.
  • Coordinate focus groups, 1-on-1 interviews, and phone interviews, to gain both qualitative and quantitative insights, including developing screening and interview instruments.
  • Conduct summary analyses of data, including performing data cleanup and preparation, including merging large datasets, creating new variables, etc.
  • Prepare detailed statistical tables, charts and graphs, and interpretation and recommendations for use in research reports.
  • Aid in proofreading and revising reports.
  • Track and regularly report the latest industry trends.
  • Ensure timeliness (e.g., manage project schedules by outlining project timelines, budgets and deliverables).

Market Research Associate Qualifications:
  • Four-year college degree (e.g., B.S. /B.A.) with concentration in survey research, evaluation, market research, statistics, or business intelligence preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of related experience in market research.
  • Expertise in multiple types of research, including primary, secondary, quantitative, qualitative and statistical methods.
  • Experience with R, SAS or SPSS for data tabulation, analysis and statistics procedures.
  • Experience with online survey tool(s) (e.g., Survey Gizmo, Qualtrics, etc.).
  • Previous marketing experience with a publisher, or library vendor, is preferred, but not required.
  • Position requires strong organization and communication skills (as well project management, conceptual and analytical skills) and the ability to creatively resolve issues quickly. Seeking a candidate who has the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
