Research Study AssistantGeorge Mason University's Center for Advancing Correctional Excellence! (ACE!), within the Schar School of Policy and Government, is seeking a Research Assistant (RA) to work on-site at Rockdale County Jail in Georgia, in the greater Atlanta region, to assist in a two-year research study involving young adults (17-24 years old). The purpose of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a specialized curriculum to help young individuals have better outcomes both inside the jail and after release.Responsibilities:The Research Assistant will be primarily responsible for recruiting participants, consenting participants, conducting assessments with participants, documenting assessments and interactions with the participants, and tracking participant data. The RA will need to work closely with the George Mason University staff and Rockdale County Jail staff to ensure that activities are successfully completed in a timely manner.This will be a part time position (maximum 29 hours per week) that is based in Rockdale County Jail, Conyers, Georgia.Required Qualifications:Must be able to pass a background check to work inside of the jail.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in related field;2 years' experience with research studies;Experience with justice-involved populations;Human subjects (IRB) training prior to start date;Excellent time management and organizational skills;Proficiency with MS Office software.
