We are seeking a Global Marketing Specialist to join the subscriptions marketing team. This person will help further The Post's subscriptions goals by driving subscriber acquisition and retention strategies in international markets. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with remote teams, be an expert of the local news media landscape, and possess a deep working knowledge of modern digital marketing strategies and best practices.

  • Exercise deep knowledge of the local news media environment; be able to make recommendations based on competitive analysis of in-market media players.
  • Coordinate teams in acquisition efforts to attract new local readers to The Post, including testing new products and pricing strategies.
  • Create and deliver a marketing strategy encompassing local strategic channels in response to reader needs and market trends, supporting The Post's in-market growth and retention objectives.
  • Closely monitor local and global news events; help the marketing team identify developing stories that will be of interest to readers worldwide.
  • Support Global Marketing Lead in delivering growth initiatives in all markets.
  • Collaborate with the editorial and engagement teams to harness developing stories that drive subscriptions.
  • Identify new partners and collaborate with the Partnership Team to deliver strategic relationships to further The Post's business and subscriptions goals.
  • Advise colleagues across the organization on local best practices, new tactics and channels as well as execute campaigns around local news events.

  • 4+ years' work experience in marketing is essential; experience in a B2C subscriptions-based company is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing or a similar field (not a requirement if the candidate can prove experience and knowledge)
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns
  • Possess a working knowledge of email marketing and digital marketing best practices
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work efficiently with remote teams
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under deadline pressure
  • Demonstrated ability with systematically analyzing and solving problems
  • Strong writing and copyediting ability
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to define/undertake work assignments with minimal supervision
  • Evidence of good judgment, creativity, inquisitiveness and perseverance in past work or educational experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint; proficiency in Excel a must)
  • Experience using Tableau and Google Analytics (preferred)
  • Presentation skills (preferred)
  • Possess a working knowledge of how to market within local legal constraints (preferred)
