The Systems Administrator will provide system administration duties for multiple servers hosted on both classified and unclassified networks, on-premises, hybrid-cloud, and in the AWS GovCloud.
Responsibilities
- Install, support, and maintain hardware and software infrastructure according to best practices, industry standards, and/or customer/organizational requirements, including routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and storage systems.
- Diagnose problems and solve issues, often under time constraints.
- Implement the necessary controls and procedures to protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction.
- Provide network and host-based security, incident response, and log collection and analysis.
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
- Assist in the development of guidelines and procedures for administration and security best practices.
- Monitor resource usage, anticipate problems and suggest solutions.
- Manage production systems and provide higher-level technical support (Tier II, III) to clients when needed.
- Work closely with colleagues to meet team goals and improve processes and practices.
- Create and maintain documentation of the systems.
- Manage hypervisors in a VMware environment, including configuration, deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Provide software and hardware support to the development team.
- Set up offsite disaster recovery environment as needed.
- Provide support for SAN (Storage Area Network) and NAS (Network-Attached Storage) devices.
- Review system and security logs and report to the team regarding incidents or potential threats to the network environment, users, or infrastructure.
- Monitor the production environment and report any code/security-related issues to the development team.
- Install, maintain, configure, optimize, and secure network operating systems and storage operating systems, including Microsoft Windows, Linux, and VMware server operating systems.
- Conduct planning, image testing and deployment, administration, day to day maintenance of desktop operating systems, software applications and supporting license servers, and hardware utilized on user workstations.
- Apply appropriate Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and provide the check reports with explanations of the results in a government-approved format.
- Maintain IAVM, SARs, CTO, and other applicable directive compliance in accordance with timelines as specified by DoD.
- Administer and manages government-approved versions of UNIX, Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Amazon Linux, Ubuntu), Solaris, Windows (Server and workstation), and other operating systems as new requirements arise.
- Maintain IAVM, SARs, CTO, and other applicable directive compliance in accordance with timelines as specified by DoD.
- Support for Data Transfer Across (DTA) domains sized up to 5TB, going between CorpsNET, NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, and other supported networks as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate degree and 8+ years of experience in the IT field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- BA or BS degree in Information Technology or similar desirable if under 8 years of experience
- Experience installing, configuring, administering, and maintaining Unix and Windows operating systems and NetApp
- DoD 8140/8570.01-M Baseline IA at IAT II or better: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSE, Security+ CE, or SSCP
- Active TS/SCI required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Outgoing team player and self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills with the ability and desire to interact with all users and work closely with other technical staff or independently.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively under pressure with the ability to frequently re-assess priorities for multiple tasks or projects.
- Strong time management and resource management capabilities.
- Operational experience with NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, DDTE, DREN, SDREN, AWS, AWS GovCloud (US), milCloud, SC2S, and/or C2S.
- Manage Active Directory, configure and manage Windows Network Policy Server (Dot1X, RADIUS), configure Group Policy Objects (GPO), apply and/or assess the operating system, web server, and web application STIGs and SRGs.
- Windows Server, RHEL, CentOS, and understanding/experience with the application of DISA IASE STIGs and SRGs and DoD, Army, and IC policies and procedures.
- IIS, Splunk, BMC, Ivanti, SolarWinds, ArcGIS, Backup Exec, and HBSS.
- Experience with NetApp, Quantum, and/or Nimble storage products and cloud storage, like AWS EBS, EFS, S3, S3 IA, and Glacier.
- Computing environment training or certification in Microsoft, Red Hat, NetApp, Quantum, EMC, Nimble, VMware, Brocade, Juniper, or Cisco.
- Ability to build, operate, and maintain Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016, RHEL, and CentOS 6, 7 servers, including Windows Server 2019.
- Install, configure, manage, and maintain VMware vSphere 6.x, ESXi, and vCenter.
- Configure and manage MS SQL and PostgreSQL databases and apply and/or assess database STIGs or SRG.
- Experience with disaster recovery configurations.
- Knowledgeable in application transport and network infrastructure protocols (SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP, NTP, SSH, HTTP/S, SMTP, and Microsoft AD) and possess an understanding of how to support these applications/protocols.
- Experience with systems and data encryption.
- Experience with fail-over clusters, load balancing, and data replication technologies.
- Familiarity with configuring both CISCO and Brocade Fibre Channel switches.
- Must have an advanced working knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.
- Must have strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards and strong technical knowledge of telecommunications, networks, and PC operating systems.
