Summary

The Sr. Systems Engineer will work closely with a small team of engineers to support and maintain the GSR application in AWS on all the government enclaves.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze day-to-day operations and write scripts to improve daily tasks
  • Negotiate scope and resolve challenges via planning adjustments
  • Provide visibility into progress and impediments
  • Facilitate program level process and execution
  • Facilitate problem-solving to manage risk, remove impediments, drive program-level continuous improvement, validate system characteristics, properties, and behaviors, and enable early feedback
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology
  • Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations
  • Develop system architecture and system design documentation
  • Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans
  • Interact with the government regarding systems engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts
  • Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the system engineering area of responsibility
  • Communicate with other program personnel, government, and overseers to help resolve issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • BS degree and 8+ years of relevant experience OR
  • High school diploma or GED and 12+ years of relevant experience
  • Active CompTIA Sec+ CE certification
  • Active AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification
  • TS/SCI clearance required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others
  • Excellent skills in Linux and AWS
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience working in a home office setting
  • Ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone with good phone skills and a professional demeanor
  • Previous customer service experience strongly desired
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it
  • Work Environment: (The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job)
  • The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment
  • Required to adhere to Chenega Corporation mandate that all employees must be fully vaccinated to COVID-19 by December 8, 2021.
