The Warehouse Specialist shall perform duties to provide personnel warehouse operations support while ensuring safety and security protocols.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload heavy boxes, bulky supplies, and materials to and from trucks/dollies.
- Move materials using cartons by hand, hand truck, or dolly.
- Open crates and boxes using crowbars and cut bands using shears.
- Receive, store, and assemble for issue or shipment a variety of bulk supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Stack, place, arrange and categorize items in storage considering size, weight, shape, quantity, type, letter, and number codes or other storage factors.
- Prepare conference rooms for operational use by setting up chairs, moving tables, sound equipment, signs, and other equipment/items as needed.
- Assemble items for issue or shipment.
- Move furniture and appliances upstairs and downstairs or room to room and arrange for occupants on an as-needed basis and perform other manual tasks as directed.
- Pack and label items for shipment in accordance with established procedures for processing by parcel post, UPS, FedEx, and freight.
- Complete documentation to reflect shipments and issues.
- Pick up and deliver mail throughout Naval Support Activity (NSA) Orlando.
- Review requests submitted for work or services to be performed.
- Receive and process requests for equipment.
- Assist with maintaining a work request register for items being submitted for repair, awaiting parts, and for items being returned to the manufacturer and/or supplier for repair.
- Complete necessary documentation to accomplish the transfer of equipment to manufacturers and/or vendors for repair.
- Review and reconcile the work order register monthly and provides work order status to users.
- Assist with arrangements for the pick-up, maintenance, and turn-in of government. vehicles in accordance with established guidelines.
- Provide a variety of general clerical support for the office including:
- Type correspondence and forms
- Order blank forms and publications
- Answer telephone calls and route callers to appropriate staff members
- Complete Chenega and Navy required trainings as required.
- Complete timesheet daily in the company's time recording system.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- 1+ years of related work experience
- Must have basic knowledge of various general office support procedures and practices to order forms, maintain files, type correspondence, and forms, etc. is required.
- Background check required with the ability to obtain interim secret prior to start
- The position requires a COVID vaccination or an approved accommodation/exemption for a disability/medical condition or religious belief
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to utilize a variety of office automation hardware and software, like spreadsheets, word processing, and database management
- Ability to maintain files, type correspondence, complete forms, and schedule appointments via email
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Must have the ability to adhere to all safety standards as required
- Must have a positive attitude
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and professionalism under pressure
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with the ability to switch priorities quickly as needs change
- Must have the ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to travel up to 10% as required
