Summary

Estimated salary for this position is $100k - $110k plus full benefits.

NJVC is currently looking for a System Administrator - Mid to join our team in Lakewood, CO.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization in a Microsoft environment
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
  • Perform routine/scheduled audits for critical systems
  • Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and some MS SQL database performance
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required with 3 years of System Administration in a Microsoft eveironmnet. Or
  • Associate Degree and 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience as a System administration in a Microsoft environment, and light network administration experience
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
  • Working understanding of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
  • Background check and the ability to obtain a public trust

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs
  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
  • Experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone with good phone skills and a professional demeanor
  • Previous customer service experience strongly desired
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it.
