Summary

The Junior Systems Engineer supports Chenega's Collaborative Nerve Center (CNC) Engineering (ENG) and Program Action Group (PAG) Towers, in ensuring visibility, situational awareness, and tracking of activities and risks requiring Cross Tower collaboration and integration. These functions increase the effectiveness of the Integrated Program Office's (IPO) efforts to streamline multiple Air Force (AF) programs through integrated engineering support services and a "nerve center" approach. This effort supports the Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence (C3I) Infrastructure Division's Enterprise IT as a Service (EITaaS) program in addition to other programs within the HNI Directorate of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC).

Responsibilities
  • Assist in establishing a systematic approach to tracking activities within and between the ENG and PAG Towers which requires continuous situational awareness.
  • Assist in tracking applicable activities, actions, and risks within that approach.
  • Provide coordination and status of tracked activities in support of the ENG General Manager (GM) and applicable functional owners within the ENG Tower.
  • Provide coordination and status of tracked activities in support of the IPO's compliance management team's efforts to ensure all necessary governance requirements are met comprehensively and efficiently.
  • Ensure applicable activities are submitted to the IPO's risk management process and included in the IPO Level risk register if necessary.
  • Maintain a responsive customer focus for all program customers, partners, and a diverse set of stakeholders across the industry and the Air Force.
  • Promote a "can do" self-organizing culture that is product-focused to deliver faster and more effective business capabilities.
  • Support a collaborative, flexible, and agile environment that removes barriers to achieve EITaaS milestones and capabilities.
  • Actively contribute to working groups, coordination meetings, and reviews to align and integrate efforts and meet target milestones and requirements.
  • Provide inputs and updates to required reports (e.g., monthly Program Status Report).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree supporting similar projects and deliverables
  • High school diploma or GED and a combination of additional experience, education, and training may be used in lieu of degree
  • Background check required with the ability to obtain Secret clearance required
  • The position requires a COVID vaccination or an approved accommodation/exemption for a disability/medical condition or religious belief

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience with Air Force Enterprise Information Technology as a Service (EITaaS) or related IT program support desired.
  • Prior experience with ITIL 3 or 4 concepts, COBIT 19 Framework, and/or PMI Framework desired.
  • Systems Engineering or IT project management experience desired.
  • Familiar with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) desired.
  • A demonstrated ability to perform in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and successfully complete assigned tasks and projects on time.
  • Well-organized and able to quickly grasp system concepts and effectively communicate their applications.
  • Communicate effectively and lead topical discussions.
  • High level of integrity and accountability.
  • Ability to travel.
