Overview

The Senior Business and Data Analyst operates as a member of the Data Analytics and Operations Team. This position collaborates with business partners to build, deliver, and refine analytics that lead to data driven decisions. The successful candidate will serve as a key influencer and champion for the use and management of information and analytics to drive and measure company performance and actionable insights for use in daily and strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business units and senior leadership to enable the vision and delivery of a data-driven organization
  • Consult with business leaders on their business goals and recommend meaningful metrics and KPI's to ensure that analyses remain actionable and responsive to specific business needs
  • Provide analytical reporting and analysis with summarized key insights and recommendations to improve and optimize performance across a variety of business portfolios
  • Design and document dashboards, reports, and thresholds to alert business units of their business status and fluctuations in their portfolios
  • Conduct highly advanced and complex analyses to identify insights and correlations indicating transformative changes that guide improvements in business performance.
  • Collaborate closely with enterprise data teams to establish standards, processes, thresholds, data dictionaries, and compliance of enterprise data architecture
  • Create innovative visuals for reports to enable more effective consumption of data
  • Monitor historical and current performances of key metrics to detect and report anomalies
  • Ensure the quality, integrity, and accuracy of consumer data for enterprise data users (data science, analytics, reporting, and operations)
  • Review and perform root cause analysis of data errors and provide short-term and long-term solutions for issues, elevating issues when appropriate
  • Maintain awareness of current industry trends and make recommendations for future enhancements
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to new and less experienced analysts
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and understanding of financial concepts and products
  • Ability to quickly become knowledgeable in current and future policies, practices, trends
  • Excellent judgment and ability to analyze issues quickly and independently and to take appropriate action with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast paced working environment and effectively balance multiple, concurrent demands and appropriately prioritize responsibilities
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)

Qualifications

Required
  • 6 or more years of relevant Business Intelligence and visualization experience
  • 6 or more years of experience creating real-time dashboards and key performance indicators using SQL Server Reporting Services / Tableau/IBM Cognos, or other BI tools
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and understanding of financial concepts and products
  • Proven experience making complex data accessible through visualization and drill down techniques
  • Ability to identify and recommend current and emerging industry best practices in data visualization, analytics, and Business Intelligence
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with business leads at all levels in the organization
  • Must have the ability to work M-F 8:00 am-4:30 pm

Preferred
  • Financial institution experience including CFO and CLO focused analytics is a plus
