2022 marks the starting point of a plan for significant expansion of ISD’s programming in the United States. We have a window of opportunity to turn the tide on the hybridized threats of hate, extremism and disinformation before their impacts become insurmountable. Combined, these threats pose an existential risk to the safety and cohesion of US society and to the US as a functioning, liberal democracy.

This Executive Director role is an exciting opportunity to bring your first-class experience in leadership, institution-building and impact-driven programming to substantially expand and embed ISD in the US. As the first Executive Director, this entrepreneurial role will be the cornerstone for the growth and development of our work in North America, whilst enjoying the support of an established global team. Working as part of ISD’s global leadership team, the Executive Director will lead and strategically grow the US organization (501(c)(3) registered), building on our existing infrastructure and in line with our 3-year global strategy.

ISD-US's head office will be in Washington DC, but our existing team of 16 talented staff are decentralized and work remotely from across the US. We actively seek to recruit a diverse team with a broad range of capabilities and experiences. Under the leadership of the Executive Director on board, we anticipate this team growing to 60 in the next 3 years.
