Operations Assistant, Green Machine EnsemblesThe George Mason University, Green Machine Ensembles Indoor Drumline, seeks qualified applicants for an Operations Assistant position. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Position:Season Pay: Competitive and related to experience/availabilityEstimated Hours Per Week: 25 (20 in-person, 5 remote)Weekends Per Month: 3+Dates of Employment: ASAP - April 2023 (renewal dependent on both parties)Reports to: Program DirectorResponsibilities:Live administrative tasks as delegated by Program Director;Equipment truck coordination;Merchandise sales at shows;Supervise loading and unloading of trucks, assisting membership as needed;Assist Program Director with travel logistics to shows and other off-site locations;Establish and regularly update equipment inventory, with assistance from Battery/Front Ensemble/Audio managers;Assist in the creation and maintenance of props;Perform menial maintenance;Identify old and unused equipment to sell; andAvailability to complete compliance and professional development trainings, both online and in person.Required Qualifications:Desire and drive to positively impact a world class performance ensemble;Experience handling logistical problems in a competitive environment; andInterest in personal and professional development.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in the marching arts.
