Jazz Bass Adjunct Faculty The George Mason University, Reva and Sid Dewberry Family School of Music, seeks a part-time artist faculty member in Jazz Bass starting August 2022. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment. Responsibilities:Teach Applied Bass;Provide leadership to Mason's Jazz Bass Studio, to include coordination of studio classes, as well as on-campus and off-campus performances and events;Coordinate recruitment for the Jazz Bass Studio;Coordinate recitals and juries for the Jazz Bass Studio; andParticipate in Jazz Department initiatives, including performances, festivals, etc.Required Qualifications:Master's Degree in Music;Successful experience teaching college level;Ability to work with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds; andEstablished reputation as a Jazz Bassist including live performance and recordings.Preferred Qualifications:Doctorate in Music.
