 The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business is seeking a well-qualified Program Manager, Recruiting to join the MBA and MS Admissions team.  One of 13 schools and colleges located on the University of Maryland, College Park campus, the Smith School is a recognized leader in management research and education for the global economy. The school is consistently ranked among the world’s top business schools by leading business publications such as Business Week, Financial Times, Economist and the Wall Street Journal.  

Dividing effort between online and in-person specialty masters programs, this position is responsible for recruiting strong candidates for our graduate programs and ensuring a high-quality and personal experience beginning with the very top of the admissions funnel and through matriculation; Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engaging events which lead to increased student enrollment. Work independently to create new outreach initiatives and pipeline development. Represent the Smith School at various recruiting functions, activities and events ensuring the highest quality representation and professionalism. Work with Director of MBA Admissions and Admissions staff to develop and execute tactical recruitment objectives and goals to support departmental, school-wide, and institutional strategies.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. 3 to 5 years progressive professional experience in an academic or corporate environment.  Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Mature judgment Strong communication skills, both one-to-one and group presentation.  Strong work ethic; a proven passion for providing high-quality customer service; proven ability to collaborate and integrate new ideas and concepts; proven ability to make effective use of time, plan, and coordinate multiple projects; Developed organizational and computer skills, strict attention to details; friendly, flexible, service-oriented manner.  Proven ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders at various levels including students, faculty, corporate clients, executives and staff; Proven ability to respond positively to extreme pressures of time and workload; Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to work in a highly independent manner at times across functions within the school; ability and willingness to work extended hours as required; ability and desire to work in a team-based environment; ability to travel to off-site locations, out of state and out of the United States. Preferences: Experience working in a business school environment and graduate/executive education experience preferred; Master’s degree preferred; Experience working with Full-time MBA or graduate business admissions; 3-5 years working in a business school environment and graduate/executive education Direct customer service or consultative sales experience preferred.
