Job Announcement

Seeking a flexible, deadline driven, results focused, passionate human resources professional to work as a member of the IT HR team supporting human resources operations for over 400 IT professionals. Works as one of the faces of the Department of Information Technology (DIT) HR team and will represent DIT with extreme professionalism and integrity. Performs a variety of complex, professional-level tasks in multiple functional areas of HR, to include FMLA, ADA, Worker's Compensation, serve as payroll backup. Assists in recruitment to include scheduling of interviews and ensuring necessary forms are completed and collected. Responsible in assisting in developing and automating HR processes. Assist with coordinating employee awards and recognition events. Works on special projects and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in human resource management, public administration, or a related field.

BRIDGE CLASS EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

Four years of increasingly complex technical administrative experience in the assigned

functional area, comparable to experience at the Administrative Assistant IV, or higher, level. This class can serve as a bridge class enabling individuals who do not meet the educational or professional experience standards listed above to qualify for this class by possessing four years of increasingly complex technical administrative experience in the assigned functional area, comparable to experience at the Administrative Assistant IV, or higher, level.

The purpose of this bridge class is to promote upward mobility within the Fairfax County

workforce. However persons qualifying for this class on the basis of their technical experience may not substitute this technical experience for education, or for professional experience, in order to qualify for other employment opportunities.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.

All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. New employees who obtain an exemption from the vaccine mandate for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs may be subject to a weekly testing requirement. Vaccinated employees and employees with a medical or religious exemption will complete the attestation online on their first day of employment or shortly thereafter.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have experience with Microsoft Automate, Projects, Forms and managing and updating SharePoint sites. Extensive experience in FMLA, ADA and knowledge of human resource, best practices in HR IT industry. Ability to establish and maintain healthy effective relationships with staff. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification of Senior Professional in Human Resources, a plus. Demonstrated high degree of integrity in handling sensitive matters and professionalism. A strong individual contributor with the ability to support DIT’s workforce. Highly motivated professional with the ability to work effectively with minimum supervision in a complex business and swift changing work environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is generally sedentary, performed in a normal office environment. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
