Job Announcement

Assisted Community Residential Services (ACRS) program has an excellent opportunity for someone with both administrative and people skills. Working with an agency that supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities includes data entry, scanning, preparing monthly reports, and performing front office duties of answering phones and assisting the public. Works directly with clients and families during orientation, admission, and discharges. Helps in problem-solving for accessing available services. Works closely with clinical staff in data accuracy and in providing a therapeutic milieu. Inputs and retrieves client data in the Community Services Board's management information system/electronic health record (EHR); trains clinical and administrative staff on EHR system. Is the agencies identified Timekeeper for the Payroll system. Independently drives county vehicle/van to transport clients.

Illustrative Duties

  • Responds to requests for information and referral from clients, families, and the general public;
  • Obtains and updates human service resources information;
  • Types and proofreads routine client-related correspondence;
  • Serves as liaison between clients, families, staff, and physicians;
  • Collects and compiles data for monthly reports;
  • Drives County van or minibus to transport clients to the program, on appointments, and to recreational activities;
  • Assists senior staff with supervision of clients on outings;
  • Participates with program clinical staff in scheduled activities for clients;
  • Maintains financial records of cash accounts;
  • Assists in inventorying and purchasing of food and other related items;
  • Orders kitchen, office, medical first aid and maintenance supplies;
  • Inventories site supplies and equipment;
  • Inputs and retrieves client data in the Community Services Board management information system (SYNAPS);
  • Trains clinical and administrative staff on SYNAPS system;
  • Verifies requests for goods and services against County contracts and funding sources;
  • Assists in reviewing and compiling data on client populations and facility trends;
  • Monitors and assists in enforcement of facility rules and policies.

Employment Standards

High school plus two years of human services experience.

  • Valid motor vehicle driver's license with fewer than six demerit points (or equivalent in another state) maintained throughout employment with CSB;
  • First Aid, AED, and CPR certifications within 90 days of appointment and maintained throughout CSB employment.
  • MANDT (Required within 30 days)
  • Qualified Developmental Disability Professional (QDDP) - within 30 days of hire
  • Virginia Direct Support Professional (VADSP) - within 6 months of hire
Some positions within this classification will require additional certifications and licenses, as defined by the position description and posted in job announcements.

The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services Registry check, a driving record check, and sanction screening to the satisfaction of the employer. A TB screening upon hire and annually thereafter.

This position is emergency/essential services personnel. (Required to report for duty during inclement weather and/or other emergencies).

All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. Administrative experience, computer skills, and experience in human services or behavioral health.

Must be able to independently drive county vehicle. Ability to travel to various CSB sites to attend meetings or preform work duties; maneuver through multi-floor buildings; bend/stretch; carry up to 30lbs; and answer phones and use a keyboard driven equipment.
Ability to communicate clearly with others. Ability to conduct various screenings on individuals upon entry to CSB facilities. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.

Panel Interview and may include a practical exercise.
