Principal Associate, Centralized Controls Monitoring Tester - ES Risk

As a Technology Risk Office Principal Associate in Capital One's Enterprise Services (ES) Tech Risk Office, you will apply your risk management skills to the company's Technology organization. You will partner across Enterprise Services, Divisional CIO, and Information Security teams to develop and support best-in-class industry risk solutions in a manner that supports innovation and protects our customers, shareholders and associates. You will collaborate with both 1st and 2nd line teams to monitor and test processes and control environments, report results, and evaluate compliance with regulations for the Technology organization. Your contributions will drive insight into risk and control performance, and organizational change through risk identification, measurement, analysis and reporting to enable better management of technology risks in an open and collaborative environment.

The Technology Risk Office - Centralized 1st Line Monitoring Team, within Enterprise Services is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Controls Assessment and Testing specialist, with strong interest in process maturity. The ideal candidate will have good organizational and communication skills. A proven background in evaluation of requirements compared to existing process coverage and the ability to identify gaps and solutions for gap closure.

This role involves understanding of requirements, controls, and corrective actions review and evaluation. The ability to clearly communicate results is imperative in this role. In addition, the ideal candidate will be able to identify key controls, design test plans for technology controls, and compose clear and concise grounding for findings. This will be a challenging role in a dynamic and fast-paced environment requiring ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments appropriately.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform assessment analysis of requirements to existing processes
  • Ability to understand and follow documented planning, testing, and reporting procedures
  • Demonstrate ability to understand complex processes and how they align to policy/regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain good client relations during testing engagements
  • Ability to execute tactical tasks assigned by manager to deliver on the Technology Risk Strategy


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 4 years of experience in project or process management
  • At least 4 years of experience in IT Audit
  • At least 2 years of experience in testing technical controls in financial institutions
  • At least 1 year of experience with AWS cloud technologies


Preferred Qualifications:
  • AWS Certifications such as Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect, or Security Specialty.
  • Experience in requirements evaluation
  • Experience in risk mitigation or corrective actions
  • Experience auditing internal controls
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Security certifications such as CISA, CRISC, or CISSP
