Job Description

The Washington Post is hiring a Home Delivery Division Manager in our Customer Care and Logistics department. The position will report to the Director of Operations and Administration and will be responsible for all home delivery and single copy distribution in the division.

We are interested in reviewing applicants whose management background and experience demonstrates a successful record in coaching, evaluating performance and creating an atmosphere where positive motivation and success thrives. Candidate with 7 to 10 years of circulation management experience are preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Direct a team of Zone Managers and independent newspaper distributors to achieve customer service goals.
  • Facilitate a culture that is focused on customer service and profitability
  • Set employee and independent contractor sales and service objectives.
  • Coach, mentor and challenge employees and independent contractors to improve individual skill sets that will facilitate improved customer service.
  • Ensure that all customer issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Analyze statistics and sales data, predict trends and make performance-based decisions based on available data.
  • Challenge existing programs, processes and structures and champion appropriate change measures that enhance customer service and profitability


Qualifications
  • 5+ years of circulation/distribution management experience.
  • Working knowledge of Independent Agent Distribution System.
  • An established track record of producing business results.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
  • Strong presentation and writing skills.
  • A collaborative spirit and ability to build strong partnerships across teams both internal and external.
