Commercial Operations (CML Ops) is one of the largest divisions in the Commercial Bank, this team's scope is horizontal across the bank and as such it supports numerous critical processes and transactions. As a Principal Process Manager (Principal Associate) at Capital One, you will be part of a high performing team on a journey to improve our data environment. We are building a better way to create the information that powers our business. In this position, you will contribute immediately while strengthening your process management best practices with opportunities to grow into new areas of accountability over time.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to identifying process gaps and leading process improvement efforts.

  • Collaborate with partners across Commercial Operations, Technology, Product, and Analysis to understand team goals and constraints
  • Document and maintain formal process documentation including procedures and process flow diagrams
  • Collect, analyze and measure process data on effectiveness
  • Provide transparency and reporting to senior leadership and executives
  • Lead sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable business improvements efforts
  • Partner with other team members to deliver business critical data quickly and accurately
  • Identify areas of process risk and develop mitigation strategies
  • Track and resolve process breakdowns
  • Act as a subject matter expert and lead teams on related projects

Work at Home Technology Requirements:
  • A secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions

    • Cable or fiber connections are preferred

    • Sustained ability to maintain latency less than 250 ms in voice calls is required
  • Hard wired connectivity is preferred, any use of wireless connectivity must be Private (non-public) and password protected through WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption. If you have any questions about your encryption, please consult with your internet provider
    • A private network is password protected where you have ownership or line of sight to every device on the network

Candidates must live within 100 miles driving distance of one of the hub locations based in Melville, NY, Plano, TX, McLean, VA or Richmond, VA.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  • At least 2 years of process management experience
  • At least 2 years of Lean Six Sigma Experience including Continuous Improvement
  • At least 1 year of experience in Technology or Data related roles
  • At least 1 year of experience within Microsoft Office or Google Suite

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in Lean, Agile, Six Sigma or Project Management
  • 4+ years of experience in Process Management
  • 1 year of experience in Financial Services
  • At least 1 year of reporting experience or metrics experience
  • 1 year of experience with Tableau, Salesforce, or other business reporting and workflow tools
