Research Associate Professor, Center for Global Islamic StudiesGeorge Mason University's College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) invites applications for a Term Research Associate Professor in the Center for Global Islamic Studies (CGIS). More information about the Center and its activities can be found at: https://islamicstudiescenter.gmu.edu/About the Position: This part-time (10 to 15 hours per week) research faculty position will provide academic and strategic leadership as director of a multi-year research project on Black American Muslim Internationalism: Global Genealogies and Trajectories of Race, Religion & Liberation (BAMI) supported by the Henry Luce Foundation. In this capacity the faculty member will oversee all project activities including workshops, conferences, publications, public education programming, and multi-site research around the United States involving data collection, generating oral histories, and the creation of documentary archives. As project director, the faculty member will also oversee development of the After Malcolm digital archive (http://www.aftermalcolm.com). The director will recruit and supervise a part-time project manager.
