Manager, Capital Markets Operations

The Securities and Funding Operations team within the Capital Markets Operations group in Corporate Treasury is responsible for trade confirmation, settlement and servicing activities associated with the Investment Portfolio, Capital Markets Funding, Agency Multifamily, Money Market and Repo Trading Desks. The team is also responsible for timely settlement of Agency CMBS for the Warehouse Lending group.

In this role, the candidate will manage a team responsible for trade capture management, Front to Back reconciliation, identifying operational risk, trade confirmation and settlement forecasts. A successful candidate should have extensive knowledge of Fixed Income Products (MBS, CMO, Treasuries, Repos, Corporate Bonds etc.) with expertise to include settlement, custody, margining, and collateralization. The role requires a highly motivated, tech savvy self-starter who can balance multiple priorities, deliver timely and accurate results, collaborate well with key stakeholders, and is comfortable with implementing technological enhancements into the operational landscape.

Responsibilities:
  • Serves as the first point of contact for the trading desks and internal stakeholders and is able to effectively address issues, escalate potential problems, and head off concerns
  • Review exceptions to standard processing to ensure overall compliance with regulations, firm policies, and accepted business practices. Accurately review, verify, and/or record data into technology supporting department processes
  • Develop and maintain department procedures. Conduct operations process oversight on complex exception-based and/or highly specialized processes to ensure adherence to department procedures, risks are mitigated, and regulatory requirements are met
  • Reduce risk and increase efficiencies by identifying potential process improvements and/or system modifications
  • Participate in business requirement development, UAT testing, end-user training, and implementation support for enhancements and new firm initiatives for changing technology systems supporting department processes
  • Supervise and direct time sensitive, complex and/or highly specialized daily work flows to ensure department service levels are met
  • Hire, onboard, and train new team members. Provide training, coaching, recognition and development for the team members, fostering teamwork and planning for succession


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in trade support or operations management
  • At least 5 years of experience in capital markets, finance, or operations


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior people management experience
  • Proficient in Python, SQL, Google Suite
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience and ability to use Bloomberg AIM, Summit or similar systems
