Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire a Needs Assessment Office Coordinator who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As the Needs Assessment Office Coordinator, you will:
•Review clinical information and determine appropriate level of care for the patient after consulting with the attending physician
•Provide clinical information to the charge nurse if the patient is admitted to the in-patient unit
•Contact managed care representatives, third party payers, primary physicians or other relevant persons in order to provide clinical and/or demographic information required to verify insurance and/or obtain authorization for clinical services
•Answer all incoming phone calls from persons and providers requesting acute clinical services for psychiatry to determine appropriate level of care
•Refer patients, as clinically indicated, to external services when a service is not provided within the array BH&WS programs
•Schedule clinical evaluations in the electronic medical record(s)
•Provide clinical triage services to the Emergency Department, Needs Assessment office and other hospital departments where appropriate
•Document all calls in the tracking log and documents disposition of patients on the department coversheet

Qualifications include:
•Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or other related field and at least •1+ years of experience working in mental health
•Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
•Clinical knowledge of ICD-10 & DSM V
•Ability to work independently
•Demonstrates effective communication "warm hand offs" between providers, shifts, departments/units, etc and "closing the loop" on all cases
•Knowledge of patient rights and laws pertaining to mental health
