Principal Associate, Brand Strategy (Dealer Marketing)

Capital One Financial Services - Auto is seeking an innovative and data-driven Principal Marketing Associate to help lead go-to-market efforts for the Dealer Marketing line of business.

This associate will play a critical role in our product growth strategy, focused on building a seamless, branded customer journey from acquisition to implementation of our products. This role requires a mix of brand, project management, go-to-market strategy, channel strategy and marketing analytics/optimization.

You will be responsible for leading and coordinating the creative development and compliance reviews of marketing campaigns while working closely with creative partners, execution teams, business analysts and sales partners. This highly visible role creates a powerful opportunity to take your leadership, marketing strategy, and brand skills to the next level.


  • Lead strategic brand development of acquisition journey campaigns and testing initiatives for the go-to-market and acquisition pod for the Dealer Marketing team
  • Develop creative briefs and work closely with creative partners to bring the business intent to life via compelling marketing channel creative deliverables
  • Serve as key liaison for and collaborate with cross-functional teams including partners from: sales, product, creative, legal, compliance, etc.
  • Collaborate with analyst teams to understand total business performance and build on analysis to identify new opportunities and optimize marketing testing strategies around creative and audience segmentation
  • Synthesize research insights, marketing trends, competitive landscape, and macro external factors to identify new strategic recommendations to improve results and Brand impact, coordinating with cross-functional teams
  • Tell consistent and compelling stories about our products and services, while also championing our brand and dealer experience
  • Influence internal decision makers with formal recommendations and informal networking through excellent communication
  • Ability to work in whitespace to develop compelling campaigns for new products, features and enhancements
  • Work proactively in an agile environment and identify when to work outside the process in whitespace

This Associate should bring:

  • An entrepreneurial spirit, sound judgment, teamwork, leadership, creativity, balance of proactive and reactiveness, and drive for results
  • Experience leading and managing creative processes, working with creative teams
  • Able to manage the details of multiple projects, deadlines, and changing priorities simultaneously while maintaining excellent and accurate work
  • A passion for leveraging data, metrics, and insights to drive results and turn learnings into actionable implications to form a marketing strategy and go-to-market approach
  • A curious mindset, ready to dig in on consumer attitudes/behaviors/trends and draw implications for marketing
  • Highly effective communication skills with outstanding writing, editing, and presentation abilities
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Suite Sheets, Docs and Slides

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree OR military experience

• At Least 5 years of experience in B2B marketing OR combination of B2B AND B2C marketing experience

• At least 5 years of experience in presentation AND communication

• At least 5 years of Fortune 500 company marketing OR communications experience

• At least 2 years of experience in Research in brand AND consumer marketing

• At least 2 years of experience in Financial Services marketing

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters Degree

• 4 years of experience in marketing agency

• 4 years of experience in customer insights and research
