Assistant Coach, Women's LacrosseThe George Mason University, Intercollegiate Athletic Department, a NCAA Division I institution and member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, is seeking qualified applicants for the Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach (full-time, 12-month administrative professional faculty).George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Position:The Assistant Lacrosse Coach reports to the Head Lacrosse Coach and is responsible for assisting in carrying out all activities necessary to accomplish the objectives of this sport within the guidelines of the NCAA, Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10), and the University.Responsibilities:Assist Head Coach in the following:Recruit and retain highly skilled student-athletes for the lacrosse team;Provide instruction on the fundamentals, details and strategies of lacrosse;Develop game strategies;Monitor student-athlete's academic progress;Help facilitate and brainstorm ideas to market and promote the lacrosse program; andAdheres to the NCAA, A-10 and University governing policies and procedures.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience;Some coaching experience at the college, university or professional level;A proven record of integrity, high principles and demonstrated skill in developing and motivating student athletes academically and athletically; andMust currently possess an appropriate, active, valid motor vehicle operator's license that meets all of GMU's requirements for operating state vehicles and equipment under Mason's Vehicle Use Policy 1411 https://universitypolicy.gmu.edu/policies/vehicle-use/ The Office of Risk Management reserves the right to review the driver's licenses and Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs) of all candidates selected with employment contingent upon a favorable review; andPreferred Qualifications:Experience leading a group;High level playing experience; andQuality writing skills.
