Senior Software Engineer, DevOps (Remote-Eligible)
Do you love building and pioneering in the technology space? Do you enjoy solving complex business problems in a fast-paced, collaborative, inclusive, and iterative delivery environment? We are seeking a DevOps Software Engineer to support our OneKube team!
The OneKube teams are endeavoring to provide a self-service Kubernetes provisioning platform for the enterprise, utilizing cutting-edge cloud tooling such as Kubernetes, Cluster API, and AWS EKS + Fargate . You'll be developing Kubernetes operators and other tooling to enable our small engineering team to manage fleets of Kubernetes clusters for engineering teams across Capital One. You will also collaborate with experts in Kubernetes and container management to design and engineer solutions, troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and AWS infrastructure, and assist in ensuring our platform is secure and operating efficiently.Very few organizations in the world are working in this Kubernetes fleet management space, so this is an opportunity to truly innovate and venture into new territory with emerging technologies.
What You'll Do:
- Assist in building out the management API layer for the platform
- Collaborate with external teams to define requirements and plan work
- Ensure vulnerabilities are well managed through process, tooling, and automation improvements
- Contribute to and improve our existing Kubernetes operators
- Design and implement new automation pipelines and processes

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 4 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
- At least 2 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
- At least 2 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience with Terraform or Ansible
- 2+ years of experience with container orchestration services including Docker or Kubernetes
- 2+ experience with coding and scripting, preferably Go
- 2+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices
