Nurse Practitioner (Part-Time Hourly Wage)The George Mason University, Student Health Services (SHS) department, is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner to provide weekend, summer, academic break (winter break) and PRN coverage for clinical care at the Fairfax campus location and remotely as appropriate.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment. About the Position:This position requires working primarily on the weekends and the traditional academic break times (Thanksgiving, winter break, spring break, summer break), with potential PRN coverage during the academic year. The majority of this work will be remote and focused on the management of COVID cases and contacts.Required Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program;Must be licensed in Virginia as a nurse practitioner in good standing, demonstrated medical office or other outpatient/ambulatory clinic experience;Demonstrated effective communication and organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;Critical thinking skills, including ability to prioritize and facilitate cohesiveness and team work;Must be able to work independently;Must be detail oriented.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge and experience with COVID-19 testing, care, isolation and quarantine;Experience and knowledge of young adult and adult ambulatory patient care;Experience and knowledge of unique needs of a college student;Experience with Electronic Health Records.
