COVID Case ManagerThe George Mason University, Student Health Services (SHS) department, invites applications for a COVID Case Manager. SHS provides primary care services and health promotion to eligible students at George Mason University, including but not limited to, initial and follow up assessment, history taking, physical exam of patients, utilization of differential diagnosis, appropriate interventions, consultations and referrals as indicated, and basic emergency treatment and stabilization. The staff provides services to faculty, staff, and visitors on an as needed basis.About the Position:The purpose of the COVID Case Manager is to promote excellence in patient care, and uphold standards of professionalism and the mission of Student Health Services. Duties include, but are not limited to:Working in collaboration with SHS physicians and staff to manage close contacts of COVID patients. This would involve:Maintaining/updating confidential excel documents of student COVID data (within scope of HIPPA/patient safety requirements);Serving as the primary point of contact for Mason's potential COVID close contacts, initiating contact with students, and educating Mason's COVID procedures;Directing students to appropriate Mason resources depending on symptoms/initial intake discussion;Tracking students to ensure they have had appropriate COVID testing;Tracking test results (positive and negative) and communicating with SHS physician staff.Provide administrative and public health guidance to students with confirmed COVID:Provide non-medical support for residential students in isolation/quarantine:Assist students in handling non-medical support requests;Answer students questions regarding Mason's COVID protocols;Coordinate with Housing/Residence Life for any student pickups/deliveries.Mason COVID Health Check (MCHC):Monitor MCHC for positive responses of residential students;Contact students with yellow/red and refer as needed to clinical staff;Document in MCHC database how the case was handled.Required Qualifications:Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment;Experience with Excel spreadsheets.Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated effective communication skills;Experience and/or desire to work with the diverse employee, student, and customer population.
