The Data Integrations Manager leads a team of ETL developers who are responsible for building data integrations across multiple systems. This team will set up data infrastructures that support data driven decisions across the University of Maryland, College Park campus. The Data Integrations Manager will report directly to the Assistant Director of Business Intelligence within the Division of Information Technology Enterprise Data Services team.

The Data Integrations Manager will be responsible for leading the strategic design and maintenance of a new cloud based data platform. The manager will also oversee the day to day tasks of the team, all personnel responsibilities and management of team projects. This position requires a technical manager who is capable of researching issues that arise related to etl processes or data loads and can assist in the resolution of complex technical problems. It requires a thorough knowledge of data warehouse and data management principles and processes and database development. The person in this position should have expert proficiency with business intelligence techniques & tools for the acquisition and transformation of raw data into meaningful and useful information for business and analysis purposes.

The Data Integrations Manager should have significant experience with data quality, data profiling, metadata management and reporting.

Knowledge of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile Methodologies are a plus.

A strong proficiency in SQL programming, query writing, performance tuning, and database technologies is required.

Clear communication, leadership skills, collaborating with non-­technical stakeholders, and the ability to make critical decisions are also requirements to be successful in this position.

Minimum qualifications

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or a related field

EXPERIENCE
5+ years of experience leading data warehouse or business intelligence teams
5-8 years of experience in overall data warehouse design (conceptual, logical and physical),with proven success implementing a large scale enterprise data warehouse
5-7 years of experience with star schema
5-7 years of hands-on experience writing complex SQL
Experience managing enterprise data warehousing projects
Experience with programming and scripting languages
Experience administering ETL environments

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of data privacy, practices and laws;
Ability to plan, prioritize and execute projects successfully
Ability to perform detailed data analysis to detect anomalies or opportunities for clean up and process improvement.
Ability to convey technical content to both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to present ideas in a user-­friendly language;
Ability to communicate effectively orally, and in writing.
Must be self-­motivated, energetic, detail oriented and a team player

Preferences 

Extensive experience in all phases of Data Warehouse development.
Experience with various ETL platforms, ideally including Informatica Cloud.
Experience with AWS, particularly the data management tools (Redshift, Aurora, Glue, Athena, etc.)

Additional information: This position does not provide sponsorship for Visas.

Salary range: $135,000 - $152,000

Physical demands: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Must have the ability to walk short distances to attend meetings on campus.
