Faculty Senate ClerkThe George Mason University Faculty Senate seeks a Clerk to provide administrative support to the Faculty Senate. This is a part-time hourly wage position with hours that vary depending on the work of the Senate. While some of the work will need to be done on campus (e.g., attending meetings to take minutes), some of the work can also be done remotely from any location.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:Work closely with the Faculty Senate Chair to support the leadership and work of the Faculty Senate;Prepare drafts of meeting agendas, minutes, and messages that will be sent to various campus entities;Maintain records for the Faculty Senate and search records for information as needed; andSupport the Senate's associated committees, including sending reminders at appropriate times to help keep our work moving forward, scheduling meetings, sending calendar invitations, taking notes during meetings, and sending messages to faculty listservs on behalf of the Senate and its committees.Required Qualifications:Knowledge of office procedures and current technology, including MS Office, Outlook, Teams, Zoom, and web-based applications necessary to carry out the duties of this position;Organizational and communication skills; andDemonstrated ability to work independently and in a team.Preferred Qualifications:Associate degree or 5 years of experience.
