As a Cyber Software Engineer on our team, you will:Design, code, and deploy enhancements and bug fixes for a Java-based application.Work directly with users to construct and execute complex queries in response to analytic taskings.Interface with other technical teams to implement improved data sharing mechanisms.Support the customer's security accreditation process.Update developer and system administration documentation.Troubleshoot data and application issues.This Cyber Software Engineer position is on a small team that follows a lightweight software development process. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of tasks according to the candidate's areas of interest and expertise. These tasks include everything from application changes that require full-stack development skills to highly-tailored, ad hoc database queries to straightforward COTS product upgrades.Our team works directly with our application users, so the changes we make are typically in direct response to their needs and have a meaningful, immediate impact on mission.Basic Qualifications:U.S. Citizenship and TS/SCI with polygraph clearanceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or other related technical discipline. (Industry-recognized certifications or five additional years of relevant work experience in technical support will be considered in lieu of a degree.)Eight to ten years of relevant experience, including four years of experience in the following areas:Java applications and Oracle databases.Writing and refining complex database queries.Operating and maintaining a web-based application. Training non-technical personnel on application capabilities. Providing customer support and technical documentation.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues related to data migration.Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with federal information security requirements. Familiarity with information management systems used by the customer and IC, including but not limited to Intelink, NGT, Intellipedia, GoogleEarth, IntelMapper, and Arc View.Familiarity with geospatial databases and/or ArcGIS.Peraton drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy.
